austin engagement session

When I first met with Danielle and Blake for coffee and a consultation, they mentioned that they got engaged in Colorado. They both love the outdoors, and they wanted to take their engagement photos somewhere that reflected that. Needless to say, we immediately started talking about driving to a state park in Austin! Danielle and Blake’s engagement session was back at one of my new favorite engagement locations- McKinney Falls State Park in Austin! We each roadtripped to the park from our respective locations, College Station and Houston, and made a day out of exploring around the falls! Danielle and Blake even brought along their adorable dog, Thor, whose name makes me laugh because he’s such a gentle and sweet dog! One of Danielle’s bridesmaids came to be on “dog duty” which is always so helpful when couples want to incorporate their pets for a portion of their session. We were able to get some great shots with Thor, and then Danielle and Blake were able to focus on each other during the remainder of the photos of just the two of them!

There was a cold front the day of their session, but that didn’t stop Danielle and Blake from hopping in the water for some fun shots! After we took photos at the falls, we ventured to a different side of the park that had a field of bluebonnets that just started popping up. It was the perfect backdrop for Danielle’s denim dress and boots!

Danielle and Blake took springtime engagement photos, but their wedding is coming up in December! I love that they will have a good variety of images from throughout their wedding journey. Their wedding venue is Peach Creek Ranch in College Station. It’s a newer venue, and it’s absolutely gorgeous! I can’t wait to work with Danielle and Blake again at the end of this year- I know the time will fly by!
