Hayes Hollow at Hidden Falls Wedding | Christy + Michael

HILL COUNTRY WEDDING DAY

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Friedrichsen! It was such an honor capturing their joyful hill country wedding day at Hayes Hollow in Spring Branch, TX. It’s crazy to think that I’ve known this sweet bride since kindergarten! My mom told me that my first ever playdate was with Christy- haha! It was so special when Christy asked me to photograph her wedding day, and I loved seeing her marry the man of her dreams! Christy and I went to grades K-12 together, so it was also fun seeing a lot of familiar faces in her bridal party and at the reception!

At the beginning of the day, the bridal party got ready at separate cottages right down the road from the venue. The girls were sipping on mimosas in matching shirts, and it was the perfect relaxed setting to start the day. Shortly after, we all migrated over to Hayes Hollow, and I think my jaw dropped when I saw how stunning the ceremony site looked!

With the help of her mom and two sisters, Christy slipped into her dress in the bridal suite. Christy’s dress was absolutely stunning with large bow on the back. I can’t even count how many people described her dress by saying “That is SO Christy!” After we took some bridal party photos around the venue, it was time to line up for the ceremony. The ceremony took place outside under a canopy of trees, and the altar area was elevated for the bridal party. One of my favorite photos from the day is when Michael is leading his bride up the steps to the spot they’d say “I do!” The meaningful ceremony concluded with the two newlyweds laughing their way down the aisle hand in hand!

HAYES HOLLOW WEDDING RECEPTION

When it was time for the reception, guests made their way inside where the tables were decked out with candlesticks and colorful florals by The Farmer and I Flower Co. One thing I admired about Christy and Michael’s wedding day is that they made sure it was personal to them. They opted for ice cream from their favorite ice cream shop instead of cake, and they danced all night before passing out Whataburger honey butter chicken biscuits. They definitely know how to throw a fun party! On top of that, they had the BEST band entertaining guests. Uptown Drive did so much more than sing; they played their saxophones in the crowd and serenaded the bride and groom at some points! (Keep scrolling to see the fun party photos!)

At the end of the night, Christy changed into a party dress and the newlyweds made their Grand Exit under a sea of sparklers. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Friedrichsen! Wishing you all the love and happiness in the world as you embark on this new journey together!
