Sentimental Backyard Wedding Ceremony | Gianna + Chris

HOUSTON BACKYARD WEDDING

It was such an honor being a part of this special day for Gianna and Chris! In light of what’s going on in the world, they made the tough decision to postpone their big wedding day. BUT, they still wanted to tie the knot and officially become husband and wife! Their intimate ceremony took place at Gianna’s childhood home with a small group of family and friends. The backyard gazebo was transformed into a beautiful ceremony backdrop complete with hanging lights, draped tulle, and a flower arch. We had beautiful weather which was such a blessing for their all-outdoor affair, and it’s definitely a day Alex and I will always remember!

Before the ceremony started, I noticed some of Gianna and Chris’ friends were setting up a live stream so Facebook friends could join in on the celebration. I thought that was such a great idea so more people could witness Gianna and Chris’ marriage! Chris was holding back tears as his bride walked down the aisle with her dad. After quietly sharing their private vows to one another and exchanging rings, everyone cheered for the new Mr. and Mrs. Nunn! After Gianna and Chris said “I Do,” we took a little field trip to the large park that the neighborhood backs up to. Alex and I live a few minutes away from Gianna, so we had scoped out the perfect photo spot for their bride + groom photos a few weeks prior. The field of flowers was SO stunning, and we had the best time capturing their newlywed joy! Gianna even had flowers in her hair, so I don’t think we could have picked a better spot for their romantic wedding day portraits!

SURPRISE DRIVE BY PARADE!

Afterwards, we headed back to the house where the Maid of Honor, Madison, and Best Man, Griffin, had organized the BEST surprise for the newlyweds…a drive by wedding parade!! We were taking portraits in front of the house when the honking began, and Gianna and Chris were so surprised to see their friends waving out of their cars, throwing bird seed, and sporting “Congratulations!” posters. It still brings me to tears thinking about the surprise parade because I know it meant so much to Gianna and Chris, and it was the perfect way for more friends to celebrate them from afar!

Guests enjoyed beautiful weather and a lovely evening filled with dinner and margaritas. Everyone was laughing and having a good time, and Madison told everyone about how they managed to pull off the surprise parade! Staying true to wedding traditions, Gianna and Chris shared a special First Dance and cut cake (which happened to end up on their faces- haha)!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Nunn!! It was such a joy being a part of your wedding ceremony, and we are so thrilled for you to continue your journey as husband and wife. We can’t wait to celebrate again soon!
