Sam Houston Hotel Wedding | Candace + Tad

DOWNTOWN HOUSTON WEDDING

Candace and Tad officially became Mr. and Mrs. Denton last Saturday! Their ceremony took place at AD Bruce Religion Center, and the reception was held at the historic Sam Houston Hotel. A few weeks ago, I toured both venues win Candace in preparation for her big day, so I couldn’t wait to be back with my camera in hand! On top of the two gorgeous venues, Candace and her bridesmaids got ready at BP Artistry’s studio space. The space was perfect for photos with its white walls and natural light pouring in from the windows. Needless to say, it was a great place to start the day with the girls all wearing matching robes and getting their hair and makeup done.

While I was with the girls at the studio, Alex was photographing the guys getting ready at The Sam. We joined forces at a nearby park when it was time for Candace and Tad to share their First Look. Tad’s reaction to seeing his beautiful bride for the first time was so sweet! Then, we took some fun bridal party portraits of everyone before making our way to the chapel. I’m still obsessing over the color of the bridesmaids dresses and Candace’s jaw-dropping bouquet!

SAM HOUSTON HOTEL RECEPTION

The chapel itself had beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides, and it was decked out with florals from Holyoak Floral Designs. Candace and Tad had each other smiling and laughing during the ceremony when they read their personalized vows aloud. After they were announced as husband and wife, it was time to head down the street to the reception. Of course, we had to take a few extra bride and groom portraits once we arrived so we could show off the historic hotel. Candace and Tad are such naturals in front of the camera, and it made me happy to see how much they valued photography! Whether we were utilizing the side aisles of the chapel or the streets of downtown, they trusted my creativity throughout the day, and it shows in their portraits!

The reception space at the Sam Houston Hotel is truly stunning with its rooftop greenhouse vibe. The space was beautifully decorated with tall floral centerpieces, greenery, candles adorning the tables. Candace shared special first dances with Tad and her dad, and they were filled with choreographed moves and spins! The high energy of their dances set the tone for the rest of the evening as guests laughed out loud at toasts and danced the night away.

At the end of the evening, guests lined up with ribbons to wave the newlyweds farewell. Mr. and Mrs. Denton, it was an honor photographing your wedding day and getting to celebrate with you! A common theme that was mentioned in your vows and toasts was laughter. We wish you all of the laughter and happiness in the world as you start this new journey together!
