HOUSTON WEDDING DAY
Claire and Teddy are officially Mr. and Mrs. Aitken! It’s been so much fun getting to know these two during their wedding journey and capturing engagement portraits and bridal portraits all along the way! I remember when I first met Claire and Teddy at Starbucks, and we immediately bonded when we realized we lived in the same neighborhood as each other. I even ended up driving Claire home from our consultation because we wanted to stay longer to chat about all of the fun (and girly!) wedding details even after Teddy had to head to work. Haha! From that day, I could already tell it was going to be such a fun experience working with them!
Claire and Teddy’s ceremony took place at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church which is a gorgeous church featuring stained glass windows and stunning architecture. Claire looked absolutely amazing in her pearl studded dress and sparkling tiara. She truly looked like a princess in her perfect ball gown! Once she was dressed, she shared a sweet First Look with her dad outside in the church courtyard. They were both holding back tears! Then, the bridesmaids joined us outside for some portraits before it was time to relax before the ceremony. (Not to mention they were such troopers in the Texas summer heat!)
It was a beautiful ceremony shedding light on the true significance of marriage, and it was so sweet seeing Claire and Teddy’s huge smiles when they were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Aitken! After the ceremony, we found the perfect sun filled spot to take bridal party and bride + groom portraits outside of the church. Shortly afterwards, it was time to relocate to the Red Oak Ballroom for the reception!
RED OAK BALLROOM RECEPTION
The ballroom, located in City Centre, had large floor to ceiling windows with an incredible view. The space was filled with beautiful navy decor, and the tables had the cutest geode table numbers! Both of the cakes were total show stoppers; the bride’s cake had a crystal geode design, and the groom’s cake was shaped like a boat! Everyone cheered as Mr. and Mrs. Aitken made their Grand Entrance into the reception and shared their first dance. Claire had the perfect dress to twirl around on the dance floor!
As the evening went on, guests sipped on signature drinks (like strawberry margaritas!) and utilized custom wedding koozies. When it was time to get the party started on the dance floor, the room was transformed by lowering the blinds and turning up the music!! It was such a fun evening celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Aitken, and the night ended with Claire and Teddy running through a sea of bubbles!
Mr. and Mrs. Aitken, we are so honored to have been a part of your special day! We hope your future is filled with all of the love and happiness (and trips to Disney World!) you could possibly imagine!
