ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL CEREMONY

Elise and Bret’s wedding took place last month with a meaningful ceremony at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and an unforgettable reception at Hotel Zaza. To kick off the festivities, the bridesmaids enjoyed a peaceful morning sipping champagne and getting ready in a spacious suite overlooking the city. After Elise’s mom helped her into her wedding gown, Elise shared an emotional First Look with her dad, setting the tone for the family-centric day ahead!

Shortly after arriving at the church, Elise and her dad were holding back happy tears as they walked down the aisle together. It was the sweetest moment to witness! The entire ceremony was rooted in tradition and served as a beautiful reminder of the sacrament of marriage. One of the most special moments in a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony is when the bride and groom are presented with wedding crowns called stefana. The crowns symbolize the glory and honor bestowed upon the bride and groom by God, and they’re joined by a ribbon which signifies the couple’s unity in marriage.

HOTEL ZAZA RECEPTION

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at Hotel Zaza where friends and family gathered to toast the newlyweds and dance the night away. The candlelit reception space was adorned with gold and black accents and featured stunning floral arrangements and statement chandeliers. Everyone cheered as Elise and Bret danced their way into the reception! As the evening continued, guests laughed out loud during toasts and sported feather boas and cowboys hats on the dance floor. And of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without lively Greek dancing and homemade Greek pastries baked by Elise’s yiayia!
