DALLAS GREEK ORTHODOX WEDDING
Kayle and Bill were married at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, Texas. Kayle and I met at church camp when we were in high school, and even though we lived in different cities, we’d catch up at various church events throughout the year. At her wedding, we were laughing about how I used to take so many photos of our friends at camp; it was a telltale sign I’d be a photographer one day! It was such an honor when Kayle asked me to capture her wedding day, and I loved getting to celebrate her marriage to Bill!
It’s clear that Kayle and Bill are best friends, and I loved seeing how they goof around with each other. Their wedding day was light heated and fun just like they are, and I had the best time capturing their joy. The day started at the Highland Hotel where Kayle and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Even when there was a miscommunication with the shuttle and we had to call Ubers to take us to the church, Kayle didn’t let anything rain on her parade. Once at the church, Kayle and Bill shared a First Look, and Bill’s reaction was seriously priceless; his jaw dropped at the sight of his beautiful bride!
DALLAS COUNTRY CLUB RECEPTION
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and filled with tradition. During the ceremony, Kayle and Bill were crowned with the Greek wedding crowns called stefana. This symbolizes that they are now king and queen of their new home. The crowns are joined by a ribbon that symbolizes the unity of the bride and groom in the presence of Christ, who joins them together. Then, Kayle and Bill took their first steps as husband and wife when the priest led them around the ceremonial table on the altar three times. They had the biggest smiles as they walked back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Sessions!
Once it was time for the reception, we drove to Lakewood Country Club. Kayle told me they hadn’t practiced their first dance, but once on the dance floor, Bill was spinning her around like a pro! Bill’s brother, Alex, proved to be the best dancer of all, and he kept the crowd energized all night! The Royal Dukes Band entertained guests with live music, and glow sticks and late night snacks were handed out as the night went on.
Mr. and Mrs. Sessions, it was such a joy capturing your wedding day and celebrating alongside y’all! We wish you all the best on this new journey together and are excited for you to become Dr. and Dr. Sessions soon!!
