BRIK Wedding Fort Worth | Katie + Blane

FORT WORTH WEDDING AT BRIK

Katie and Blane got married at BRIK Venue in Fort Worth, TX, last weekend. Alex and I loved roadtripping to Fort Worth so we could be a part of their special day! Their wedding venue was one of the most unique venues I have ever been to. The building itself is 100 years old, and it used to be an old textile mill. The inside has an industrial vibe and is filled with white brick and hanging lights. There is even a special trap door that leads up to the roof…but that is for later in the story!

The day started with Katie and Blane sharing a First Look! It was a moment filled with anticipation as Blane awaited seeing his bride for the first time. His reaction could not have been sweeter as he saw her walking towards him down the steps of the venue. They were both beaming as Katie twirled around to show Blane her perfect dress! Their bridal party joined us shortly afterwards for portraits, and Alex took photos of the guys showing off their suspenders while I took photos of the girls sporting their emerald green bridesmaids dresses. (Seriously, Katie and Blane have the best style! Just look at his emerald bow tie!)

RECEPTION SURPRISES

Before the ceremony, guests entered the venue on the first floor and went straight up the stairs to the ceremony space. I loved seeing their faces light up when they looked at the reception space on the first floor. I heard everyone talking about how incredible the decor was and how amazing the venue looked! After a heartfelt ceremony, Katie and Blane had a special request for photos. They wanted to go up on the roof! I still don’t know how Katie did it, but she climbed up a ladder to the rooftop in her high heels! The rooftop had a breathtaking view, and it was such a fun spot for photos! We let the wind blow Katie’s veil around as we walked around the roof and marveled at the sunset. (Doesn’t that sound dreamy?!)

When I met with Katie for coffee prior to her wedding, I remember her telling me that they wanted their reception to be a big party. They surprised guests by handing out glow sticks on the dance floor, and it was evident early on that their guests knew how to bust a move! After the dance floor had been jampacked for a couple hours, there was ANOTHER surprise that Katie had up her sleeve. She surprised Blane with a special delivery of Whataburger’s honey butter chicken biscuits. Blane’s reaction was priceless!

Throughout the whole day, I got to see glimpses of how special Katie and Blane’s relationship is. From the way they looked at each other during their portraits to the way they danced with each other all night, I can tell they love living life together. I can’t wait to see what their future has in store for them as husband and wife! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Cheatham!!

Katie’s mom and sister helping her into her gorgeous gown. Katie reading a letter from her sweet groom-to-be. Here comes the bride!!  Katie, you are SO stunning! Love this sweet moment captured by Alex! Katie and Blane had such a fun group of friends! How cool is this graffiti wall?! Blane and his sisters! After the guests sang the Aggie War Hymn- haha!
