Libby and Jonathan’s engagement session was quite the adventure! We journeyed 3 hours from home to take photos in Austin. The second I pulled up to the entrance of the park, I knew it was worth the drive!

My fiance, Alex, and I spent the day in Austin before I took Libby and Jonathan’s photos. I’m so glad he came along because he drove around the park and scouted out new locations while we were busy shooting. You may not be able to tell from the photos, but it was HOT outside! I don’t mean hot like “Oh, it’s just another day in Texas…” I mean hot like “Oh my gosh, we are dripping sweat, and it’s only been 10 minutes!” Luckily, Libby and Jonathan are such troopers, so it was nothing some ice-cold blue Gatorades couldn’t fix. We told Alex that we really needed to find some shade, and he told us about a perfect spot that he had found. It was a shady trail that had an old fallen tree. Talk about perfect!!

We enjoyed taking photos in the shade until we realized that the sun was quickly setting. We hurried to the final location (which required us to RUN down the mountain), and made it just in time to capture the gorgeous sunset over the water. No joke- we took over 100 photos in 15 minutes, and I’m in love with them all!

Libby and Jonathan’s engagement session was definitely one to remember. Call me crazy, but I would drive 3 hours in a heartbeat if it meant getting photos (and memories!) as wonderful as these. I can’t wait to capture this sweet couple’s wedding in December!
