ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CEREMONY

It was such a joy being a part of Katherine and Mac’s wedding day! I know Katherine from church, so it was extra special capturing their ceremony at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and of course, all of the fun moments of the reception at The Ballroom at Bayou Place!

Katherine and Mac are such a sweet couple, and Alex and I really enjoyed getting to know them better during their wedding journey. We endured a heat wave in Dallas for their engagement session and took Katherine’s bridals in 30 degree weather, so it was only fitting that we had the PERFECT weather for their big day! The sun was shining all day which gave us the most beautiful lighting for portraits in the church courtyard before the wedding.

To start off the day, Katherine shared a First Look with her dad outside, and it was such a special moment to witness. Katherine looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown and mom’s veil! Shortly after, Katherine also shared a special moment with her brother, Dean. Everyone in the family was teary-eyed, but luckily Katherine gifted her parents custom handkerchiefs for the occasion! Then, we took bridal party portraits around the church before lining up for the ceremony.

The ceremony took place inside the gorgeous cathedral, and it was a meaningful service filled with Greek Orthodox wedding traditions, such as the Greek wedding crowns called stephana. The ceremony celebrated the sacrament of marriage, and we loved capturing all of the emotion and details throughout! Everyone cheered as Katherine and Mac officially became the new Mr. and Mrs. Hall!

After the ceremony, we took bride and groom photos in front of the church. The wooden front doors and stunning architecture made for the perfect backdrop for photos! We also had the chance to take some fun downtown photos of Katherine and Mac once we arrived at the reception site. The sunset downtown was beautiful as we finished up portraits and made our way to The Ballroom at Bayou Place for the grand entrance!

Before Katherine and Mac entered the reception, guests were welcomed into the breathtaking ballroom that featured lush florals, gold decor, and custom menus. Guests ooh-ed and aah-ed over the stunning wedding cakes that were displayed at the front entrance! After making their grand entrance, the new Mr. and Mrs. Hall shared their first dance underneath the most beautiful chandelier and hanging floral centerpiece. As the night went on, The Grooves entertained guests with live music, and the dance floor was packed all night! In between brand breaks, everyone joined together for some traditional Greek dancing! It was so much fun capturing all of the energy out on the dance floor all night! Katherine even crowd surfed at the end of the night- she is basically the coolest bride ever!

To end the most perfect night, Katherine and Mac shared a private last dance in the candlelit ballroom as guests lined up outside with sparklers for the Grand Exit. Katherine and Mac ran through a sea of sparklers before driving off in a blue corvette- sparkler in hand! Mr. and Mrs. Hall, we are so thankful we could be a part of your wedding day and capture all of the most special memories for you two!
