GREEK ORTHODOX WEDDING CEREMONY

Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Sprott! Katherine and Wesley were married at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Houston, TX, on a beautiful day in May. The ceremony took place in the gorgeous church, and the reception was next door in a transformed reception space that was adorned with pink peonies and candlelight. 

To start the day, Katherine and Wesley got ready with their respective wedding parties before heading to the church for pre-ceremony portraits. Once at the church, Katherine shared a First Look with her dad and grandpa outside of the church. Cue the happy tears! It was a peaceful afternoon as guests started to fill the church in anticipation of the ceremony. 

I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room as Katherine made her grand entrance through the main church doors and down the aisle to her groom! It was a beautiful ceremony focused on the true sacrament of marriage and Greek Orthodox traditions, such as the stefana, or wedding crowns. I loved seeing Katherine and Wesley smile at each other during the ceremony, and their joy was apparent as they beamed all the way back down the aisle as husband and wife! 

HOUSTON WEDDING RECEPTION

After an outdoor cocktail hour with passed appetizers and specialty sips, the new Mr. and Mrs. Sprott danced their way into the reception space where they shared their first dance together. Wesley surprised everyone by lifting Katherine on the dance floor, and it was a picture perfect moment! 

As the evening went on, Cap City Band had everyone on the dance floor with party props and fun hats. Of course, guests also enjoyed Greek dancing and a dessert table overflowing with traditional Greek pastries! The night was filed with surprises, like Wesley stage diving and the bride and groom singing on stage with the band! To end the perfect night, Katherine and Wesley ran through a sea of streamers to their getaway car. 

Congratulations again, Mr. and Mrs. Sprott! It was a joy getting to know you both and being a part of your special wedding memories!
