Greek Orthodox Wedding | Kiki + Adrian

GREEK WEDDING

Kiki and Adrian were married at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral last weekend, and it was a gorgeous white and gold wedding day! The reception space was dripping in white flowers and candle light, and even the bridesmaids wore gold dresses! I had such a great time capturing the day and getting to hang out with Kiki and Adrian. It had been almost a year since their engagement session, but we joked about how the weather was still the same. Cold! The cold front that came in the night before was fitting for a winter wedding in Texas!

One thing I loved about Kiki and Adrian’s wedding day was how relaxed everybody was. Adrian was laughing with his family and friends in the courtyard while Kiki’s bridesmaids and mom were helping her get dressed in the bridal suite. As the day went on, Kiki shared a First Look with her dad, and then it was time to walk down the aisle! The church was packed with their closest friends and family who were all there to watch them be joined together as husband and wife under God.

My favorite part of a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony is the crowning of the couple. The priest places crowns on the bride and groom’s heads, and the crowns are tied together by a ribbon. There is a lot of significance in this moment- the couple is being crowned with honor and glory by God. At the end of the ceremony, Kiki and Adrian had huge smiles on their faces as they made their way down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez!

DANCING ALL NIGHT

Before entering the reception, we snuck outside to take some bride and groom portraits at sunset. The church is newly renovated (with construction finishing only two months prior), so the outside is absolutely gorgeous with freshly painted front doors, new steps, and even a few Christmas decorations for the season. Once the party got started at the reception, JPAPA Productions played a mix of cultural music, and guests were Greek dancing and line dancing to their favorite songs all night.

Congratulations again to the new Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez! It’s been such a joy working with you two throughout your wedding journey, and we wish you all the best as you continue this new journey together!
