cabo destination wedding

A few months ago, Stephanie and Jon took their engagement photos in Galveston to set the tone for their summer wedding in Cabo. It was so much fun photographing my first destination wedding with such an incredible couple! Stephanie and Jon are just the sweetest. They invited me and Alex to join them at their rehearsal dinner which was a dinner cruise with live music. On top of that, they made sure we were taken care of all weekend!

The day of their wedding was perfectly sunny and 80 degrees. The bridesmaids got ready in a suite overlooking the pool, and you could see the ceremony site from their window. One of my favorite parts of the morning was watching Stephanie and Jon privately read their letters from each other. Stephanie stopped reading her letter mid-sentence because she and Jon had both started their letter with the exact same phrase! Jon was equally as excited when he noticed their matching opening lines. When I asked Stephanie about it later, she said something along the lines of “We do that all the time!” A match made in heaven? I think so!

when in Cabo

I can’t think of a more perfect and serene ceremony location for Stephanie and Jon’s destination wedding. They said their vows under an arch that overlooked the ocean, and the pastor had them close their eyes and feel the sea breeze. Jon teared up as Stephanie walked down the aisle, and they were both giggling throughout the ceremony. Afterwards, all of the members of the bridal party tossed their shoes aside so we could take some photos barefoot on the beach. The timing of the ceremony could not have been better because we ended up taking bride and groom portraits right at sunset. Stephanie and Jon were troopers as they climbed on rocks and walked all along the beach to get the perfect photos.

All of the guests were given maracas upon entering the reception. The maracas made an appearance on the dance floor once the music got started, and Stephanie and Jon exited the reception to the sound of guests shaking them!

Stephanie and Jon toasted their guests by talking about energy. There’s a certain kind of energy in the room when it’s filled with all of your closest friends and family. That’s the only way to describe Stephanie and Jon’s magical wedding weekend- filled with positive energy and love!
