BOWERY HOUSE WEDDING
Maria and Jake were recently married at St. Bartholomew with a reception at The Bowery House and Gardens. It was the sunniest, most perfect winter day for them to say “I do!” 2020 threw them a lot of curve balls during their wedding planning process, so it felt extra special to finally be together celebrating their marriage as our first wedding of 2021! I took Maria’s bridal portraits a few weeks before the wedding, and it was so hard keeping them a secret. I mean, just look at how stunning she is in her long sleeve gown! I’ll be sharing her bridal portraits in a future blog post soon. Needless to say, I was excited to be back at The Bowery House to capture Maria and Jake’s big day!
We spent the morning of the wedding at The Bowery House where the bridal party was getting ready for the day. Maria’s mom helped her into her gown before Maria did a special bridesmaids reveal with her girls. They had the biggest smiles on their faces when they saw Maria in her perfect dress. Their jaws dropped and they rushed into hug her. It was just the sweetest! (One of the bridesmaids was our past KHP bride, Lauren!) Then, Maria shared a First Look with her dad. They were both wiping away tears and giggling as they embraced each other. It’s easy to see they have a very special father-daughter relationship! Before heading to the church, Maria and Jake exchanged letters. Their excitement was evident as they both started getting emotional leading up to the ceremony- haha!
ST. BARTHOLOMEW CEREMONY
Shortly after, we all drove to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church for the ceremony. The church was beautiful with its tall ceilings and naturally lit atmosphere. It was a lovely ceremony filled with prayer and worship, and it was so exciting watching Maria and Jake promise forever to each other!
After taking bride + groom portraits around the property at The Bowery House, the newlyweds made their grand entrance. The reception was filled with special dances, heartfelt and hilarious toasts, and glow sticks on the dance floor! We even snuck Maria and Jake away for a few minutes of sunset photos on the rooftop. Talk about a photographer’s dream! The energetic night filled with dancing ended with Maria and Jake running through sparklers to their getaway car.
Mr. and Mrs. Velasquez, it has been so much fun being a part of your wedding journey! We are wishing you all of the love and happiness in the world as you continue this adventure as husband and wife!
