Wedding at The Farmhouse | Marie + Graham

WEDDING AT THE FARMHOUSE

Marie and Graham are officially the new Mr. and Mrs. Henkhaus! I met Marie back in high school, and I was so excited when I saw she had gotten engaged! (Not to mention it made me feel old since she is a couple years younger than me!) It was an honor when she asked me to photograph her big day, and it’s been so much fun working with her and Graham! (You can see their engagement photos HERE!)

Their wedding took place at The Farmhouse which is one of my absolute favorite venues in the greater Houston area. White flowers, greenery, and light blue accents were scattered throughout the reception and ceremony spaces adding the perfect pop of color for their summertime wedding. I especially loved the ceremony arch that was draped with blue ribbon and greenery! Carolyn from Sweet Tea and Linen worked hard behind the scenes to make sure all of the details were perfectly in place for the big day!

Marie looked STUNNING in her gown from Weddings by Debbie, and Graham sported a classic black bowtie with his tuxedo. Together, they looked like they were straight out of a fairytale! One of my favorite parts of the morning was when Marie and Graham shared a private moment together before the ceremony so they could exchange letters. I’ll always remember how tangible their joy was in that moment- there were definitely some happy tears involved! Soon after, Marie walked down the aisle to meet her groom, and she was beaming the entire way! Once Marie and Graham were announced as husband and wife, they kissed and then threw their hands up in excitement!

JOYOUS WEDDING RECEPTION

After we took portraits around the property, Marie and Graham made their Grand Entrance into the reception where they were surrounded by all of their friends and family. I loved hearing the toasts from the Best Man, Maid of Honor, and Father of the Bride. I always think there is something so special about toasts because the toasters never fail to create a rollercoaster of emotions for the guests. Tears that were shed just moments before turned into laughter as the Best Man, Graham’s brother Luke, talked about some of his hilarious childhood memories involving Graham. Marie and Graham were cracking up the entire time, and I loved capturing all of the emotion on camera!

Guests were on the dancefloor all night, and when they needed to rest their feet, they went over to the ice cream bar that was serving Bride’s Cake and Groom’s Cake Blue Bell ice cream! (AKA the BEST ice cream!) At the end of the night, guests lined up with sparklers to bid farewell to the newlyweds. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Henkhaus!! Your joy on your wedding day was contagious, and I hope you continue to laugh together as you start this new adventure as husband and wife!
